Tweet I'm a guy, and a good friend of mine's life is a disaster. He Wauna WA cheating wives rushed into getting married and his wife came with a ready-made family of two daughters and a. For the third time in 4 months he's expressed to me he feels "under appreciated and taken advantage of". He used to be wealthy. But he has bought the wife huge houses each bigger than the next in the last two years. And she complains about where she lives! She hasn't been in the house a year and she is whining about what she would change! Adding to this the wife constantly spends money on every whim of the two daughters. There is no accountability: the one daughter rung up a $ cell phone and her reward/punishment was a new cell phone. I don't know what to do. I tried writing a letter or two suggesting that he can't be superman and solve all these problems. But he writes back thanking me and that he totally agrees but if he doesn't get to the problems first they become disasters that he must fix anyway. I'm not sure, but I think if he tries to really clamp down, create a budget, and say "no" to things, she does the typical, bad-wife, no-sex blackmail. Sorry that this is rambling. He's in a horrible situation and can't anyway to fix it. What do I do? Sit around and nod my head when he vents/complains and not take him seriously that his marriage has turned his life into a disaster? By "not take him seriously", I mean not try to help him? I'm lost. I think we both feel the marriage was a huge mistake, yet I can't say that to him, right? A friend can't say "you fucked yourself with your marriage." And if he knows it, and I know it, what's the point of saying anything? I MUST wait for him to first mention divorce, right? He used to be such a low-key, stable, accounting-type guy. He has an MBA and all. Now all that's gone and he spends his days running to work and then coming home putting out fires. It's such a disaster that I find it hard to interact with. What do I do? (Again, sorry for the rambling.)
